Nov 15,  · Recorded live in November at Church of the Holy Trinity in Toronto (and hence "The Trinity Session"), this was the Cowboy Junkies' second album. The track listing is made up of a number of self-penned tunes, a couple of traditional songs and a few cover versions/5().

The Cowboy Junkies take slowness to an extreme, which makes familiar songs like I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry and Blue Moon new and more profound - the vocalist lingers on every word. It really does evoke a heroin sense of time (not that I'm experienced with that, but I think I understand the Junkie reference in the band name.)/5().

The Trinity Session was recorded in one night using one microphone, a DAT recorder, and the wonderful acoustics of the Holy Trinity in Toronto. Interestingly, it's the album that broke the Cowboy Junkies in the United States for their version of "Sweet Jane," which included the lost verse. It's far from the best cut here, though.9/

I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry Lyrics: Hear the lonesome whippoorwill / His song's too blue to fly / The midnight train is a-winding low / I'm so lonesome I could cry / I've never seen a night so.
